Week 1 Recap
We are off to a flying start. This email is a recap of what we did in class and what is coming up.
Accomplished:
Introductions and Using Wordle
We used a Back Channel using CoverItLive
Filled out a few surveys – this will help me in planning the rest of the course
I talked briefly about a password system – you may want to organize something for yourself
Safety and Ethics Wiki – Everyone should have joined the wiki, formed a group and picked a topic. No need to get started on this yet. I will review the assignment during our next face to face class.
In the 7 PM class, we had time to set up our blog.
What to do: This work is due by midnight on 9/6. Expect another email on 9/6 describing our activities for the week. These assignments are in a folder in the Assignments Tab in BlackBoard
- Create your account in Blogger – go to www.blogger.com. You may need to create a new account if your TU account does not work. Create a post with your technobiography. Enter your Blog URL in the form in Blackboard
- Create a HomePage in BlackBoard. To edit your page, go to Tools..Edit Homepage. You should have an image (reasonably sized), Brief Intro, and Goals for the Class.
- Read the Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants Article
The only other thing to do is begin the Evaluating Educational Websites Activity. There is some reading and you will need to make a list of questions. This is NOT due on 9/6 but we will be working on this next week.
